First Annual Jaidon Joseph Smith Scholarships Awarded

Tonight we had the honor and pleasure of awarding the first two annual recipients for Jaidon’s Scholarship. Troy was a Rockstar and was able to (mostly) get up and present the award while I sat trembling and hysterically bawling while recording it.

Our first annual recipient of the Jaidon Joseph Smith Educational Scholarship Award is being presented to Maxwell Schleien. This award is being given in recognition of Maxwell’s academic excellence in a traditional classroom setting while using unique GT/LD abilities and skills and has chosen to apply them at the collegiate level. Max has shown enormous growth academically, socially and personally and we feel like he most embodies what this scholarship was created for, to honor and reward a student, much like Jaidon, who overcome great hurdles to succeed.

The decision between these two top candidates was incredibly challenging and as a result we created a second scholarship to acknowledge another studentOur first annual recipient of the Jaidon Joseph Smith Educational Kickstart Scholarship Award is being presented to Noah Osterhues. This award is being given in recognition of Noah’s academic excellence in a traditional classroom setting while using unique GT/LD abilities and skills to apply at the collegiate level. Like Jaidon and Maxwell, Noah has also overcome great hurdles to succeed.

We wish both of these young men a lifetime of success.

We would like to thank all of you who have donated to this and especially thank our scholarship selection committee for their time and expertise in determining the awardees, Kyra Smith, Benita Cohen, Nancy Edwards, Jeanne Ellinport, Dr. Teresa Giral, Jenna Landy, Shari Perry and Rochelle Vega, because without you all it would not have been possible to honor Jaidon’s legacy.
